I was watching an interview with John McCain on larry king live 2 or 3 days ago. Mccain said that an immigration bill would be introduced in the senate in a week or two which would focus on border security first, i am not sure what that means, focusiing on border security first, good or bad for us? would that mean our provisions will be moved to a later stage where border security is ratified first before anything can happen etc etc which is what anti-immigrants want.

EB-3-I is stuck in 01...not likely to move till Oct and then in OCT08..it will move by couple three months for the next 12 months till OCT 09..What are the option for EB-3 stuck here..from 01, 02, 03 ....

2) wait for legislation from Logfren to pass
3) wait another 3 years...already in the Queue from 01..
If I choose to convert to EB-2..I have to put in a PERM and then I-140..what is the time line for getting my LC thro PERM and then my I-140 in EB2 cleared?? based on the current processing times..
Do I wait to see if Logfren's legislation goes thro ..if doesnt go with the conversion to EB-2...???

back in our o'l days we used to say time will come that people will line up for visa to work in India. I kind of see this first article towards that end coming to reality. B'lore is the second choice for people to work outside USA. wow that is great to know.

In another thread, IV is proposing only pushing filing 485 before priority date. I try to understand what the benefits are by filing it. For one thing, you can switch jobs after 6 months? How about setting up your own consulting company?

I think that DOS, the visa office has the answer. This is insane. According to the 485 report released by USCIS some time ago, there were approximately 4000 ROW EB3 pending cases up with PD of up to 6/2002. As such, the dates should have been moved in December and moved a lot. Yet, they did not move it. I think I am going to write up a letter to Mr. Opperheim, or whatever his name is and ask why he did not move the dates at all.

I am at the risk of being laid off anytime but will not stop my contributions to IV
I am convinced that this cause is far bigger that 1 job or one individual .
To live with the insecurity of loosing status doubles the anxiety of loosing a job .
I hope that this situation doesnt befall on anybody here on IV....
We deserve better ...All of us here are educated and highly skilled and we deserved to be treated right .
If you think I am right .....Contribute atleast USD 10 right NOW and post it here.
God help us and Capre Diem ( Sieze the day ) to all of us

holding an Approval notice alone is NOT a valid reason to bypass the transit visa in germany.
holding a valid visa or Adv parole is good . but not just an appr notice.

I called uscis twice. The IO said they cannot raise a "Service Request" because they don't have enough evidence that the application was received properly and accepted for processing. They don't accept the tracking number as evidence. :confused:
The IO asked me for the receipt #, or evidence of checks cashed because I'm not in the system yet. :mad:
On July 9 my application was received in NSC and was signed for by F HEINAUER.

Can you get conventional loan with 10% down in New Jersey?
ANd that too for H1B/EAD. My broker says that you cant get conventional loan with work permit status.
Is that true?
The FHA option he is giving ,looks expensve to me.
