The misconception that immigrants are displacing American workers is gaining popularity. If we are to make a case for immigration reform that helps EB community, we ought to show that EB immigrants are not displacing American workers, but helping the overall economy. In the midst of current economic situation and growing public sentiment against immigrants, paying taxes, obeying laws and assimilating with American society and culture is not enough. It is important to stress the obvious - how individuals from EB community are contributing towards the economy, innovation and competitiveness. In order to illustrate this, I would like to get examples of people from EB community.
The people mentioned in the earlier replies do not help this argument. I am looking for examples such as the founder of orkut - who is an EB immigrant, once on H1-B visa.

Forget about it. USCIS will waste 3699 more visas this year on and show anti immigrants that they have done something for them.

My attorney tells me they don't give employees copies of labor applications.
Is this normal? Would I need it in future - if I switch jobs 180 days after 485 etc?
Same thing with me. Lawyer does not release copies of Certified LC or I-140 approval.
From what I understand that should not cause issues with AC21; however I would feel much better having these copies in my hand just in case....my 2 cents...of course ask attorney before making any moves...

OMG :eek: 3 months to withdraw PERM!
Because of attorneys error, back in Jan/2008 we had to with draw perm and refile. It took Just 3 days to withdraw my PERM at that time.

Your I-94 SHOULD have the same number as the old one!
Whether they give you a new white and stamped or the printed I-797 I-94 is a moot point. The validity date and the number is what matters.
I was once given a new I-94 after visa stamping in Canada at the Derby Line border post in VT with the same I-94 # as the old (and printed I-797 I-94) for a $6 charge.
You saved $6. Go buy nice milkshakes for the family and be cool.
It is a non-issue.

Online updates are sometimes late. There are cases of people getting their green cards last year in the visa bulletin fiasco with no online updates. You should not rely on that. Your friend needs to get your attorney to act on this ASAP and sort it out. After all if you don't know why it was rejected you have no chance to rectify it.

I have used AC21 to change jobs
I have a closing statement from my previous employer mentioning the exercisable options.
Here it goes:
Exercisable Options
Price $30
grant date 1/10/2007
Shares exercisable 400
total price =12000
Last date to exercise
7/20/2008
However the market share value for the company now is 26.00
now my question is if I were to exercise before the last date will I be getting the total amount of $12000 or 26 x 400 = $10400 or the difference between the share values which is infact negative or nothing?
I find it difficult understand this financial terms. I dont understand clearly the term 'Exercisable options' Is there a hidden treasure am going to get?????
You will want to exercise your option only if the stock price on the date of sale > strike price (30$).
Whenever you sell, any amount > 30$ is your money, else the options are under water and useless

Hello,
I called USCIS Boston Field office today ( 800 # on the FP Notices ) and the Customer Service Rep told me that If we have already given finger prints then we can ignore the second FP notices. But she did not ask for any of our A# or Receipt #. I asked her to pull out my record based on 485 receipt # and verify if the finger prints we gave earlier are correct and we do not have to worry about the second finger prints notices. She said she cannot do that.
SO, I got Infopass appointment for tomorrow. If at all, the officer says tomorrow that I do not have to worry about the second FP notices then what should I do ???
1) Do they send any kind of letter in mail saying I should ignore the second set of FP notices. ( OR )
2) Should I ask for any thing in writing saying that we are good with the finger prints we already gave and do not have to worry about the new notices (OR)
3) Do they put any stamps and write on our new FP original notices saying Finger Prints not required for the second time.

Did Anyone got 2 year EAD when I-140 pending? There is some stupid assumption posted on some immigration website that USCIS is issuing 2 yr EAD to approved 140 petitions only..
