It is hard to say. I am in the same situation as you (filed concurrently by June 21). I believe it is not worth giving them an extra $1000, and for what. You already have filed your I-485. What is the downside?

In my opinion, you should deal with the seller directly with out an agent only if you know the seller personally. Say you want to purchase a house from another IVan, you can do that with out a middleman (Realtor) :)
But you would still need a settlement agency and a lawyer (usually arranged by the settlement agency). And it is advisable to get the loan thru a loan agent.
So what is the roler of a broker/ real estate agent for a buyer.

Literally, windsor(Canada) and Detroit (USA) are seperated by river, so keeping GC and PR is like riding in two boats ... not possible. While Canadians are liberal in allowing their immigrants to travel daily into US to conduct their jobs ( that brings easy tax $$), it would be inconvienent to track daily movements out of country for GC. Remember at US citizenship, you will be asked to provide detailed log of trvels outside the country. So trip to Windsor is technically outside the country.
I had Canadian PR and am giving it up, because I finally got GC. With GCI can trvel freely into Canada. Plus even before Canadian PR, I never lived in Canada nor do I plan to in future. So why bother.

I understand that one cannot guess when USCIS sends out receipts. All I wanted to know was if there will be different receipts sent out for LC/140/485 and if the processing will be done simultaneously or separately.
you ask your lawyer. This forum is meant to solve or find answers to our problems. Not to answer questions. Do your research . Understand the requirements and steps. There are somethings predictable with USCIS. And above all, you have google to search for your answers. Dont always try to take a short cut to find your answers. Already you have done a LC. Now atleast put in ur efforts to understand the GC world. It is not a rocket science unless you want to know the internal working procedures of USCIS in detail.

Yes i had also applied OCI for my child about 6 months back and was denied since we parents hold indian citizenship. Does anybody know that registering every 6 months is a must ? Some of my friends have permanentely gone back to India i am not sure what they are doing though since there kids hold US Citizenship. Any infomation on this will be helpful.
- A child under age 16 (with any visa, including PIO) don't need to register with FRRO. But many Indian immigration officials conveniently forget this and harass you. So you better take a print out from official Indian Government website.
- PIO card holder needs to register with FRRO when the stay exceeds 6 months for the first time and that registration is valid until PIO expires. PIO is valid for 15 years, so you will register once in 15 years at the most.
Google for references. If you don't find it, I will look up and post it.

With a million GC applications processed a year even if a small percentage fit the profile Merck has managed to corner a substantial market and more than that a ready made test suite for it's vaccine.
This racket started with states like Texas making Gardasil mandatory for pubescent girls. If this is what takes to be in "Land of the Free" I would rather leave it for the true Americans who would be suing Merck 15-20 years later for damages.

Won't i be allowed to enter this office from OCT1st 07 or that's OCT 2008 ??
First of all even if CIR is passed someone need to interpret the section. What kind of Ban for H1b in consulting? Is it blanket ban? It is going to be very tough in reality to Ban H1b for consulting completely. There might be some options in the law.

I also got RFE from VSC for AP reg PP clear copies. In my case, lawyer asked to send me clear copies of bigraphic info which means first and last page of PP showing photo and name and other info. I scanned and sent color images to my lawyer. So strange that all VSC people are getting this RFE.
Online status simply shows, recieved and pending.. Does not reflect the RFE at all.

Chances are that your brother might get the H1 approval without an attached I-94 so he will have to attend a H1 visa interview in the home country before starting work again. So they might end up attending H1/H4 interviews together.

Hindsight is 20-20, she regrets sometimes because its so difficult now (back then in the 70's they had given her a GC when she landed at the airport with all sponsorship documents), but I tell her whats done is done... they did what they thought was best at that point in time :) so no regrets!
My dad who was here in 70s on a GC is now here after 35+ years on a tourist visa. He had a gettogether with all his friends of his time those who came here with him and we figured out that most of their children are ABCD and not doing that big or great but do carry tons of attitude towards people like us. I am glad that I am not like them, if I was born here, I would have grown as a ABCD and I am glad I am not, offocurse, the interesting thing to watch would be how our children turn out to be :)
