The sequence you mentioned is correct.
I did received 3 same paper welcome notices !!!!
Next paper notice received contain GC.
Gurus / Recent GC Awardees:
Can you clarify if the following Sequence of GC Issuance PRocess is correct, once Approval process is going on .
1) Online LUD on Cases "Card Production Ordered" and subsequent Email.
2) Online LUD Change as "Welcome Notices Sent" and Emails.
3) Receiving the Paper WelcomeNotices (Are these Notices are deemed to be I485 approval notices ?? I have not yet received them)
4) Receiving the Cards.
Then What is "ADIT Processing" ? they mentioned in the Welcome Notices sent email.
Any Info or guidance from Peers is highly appreciated . :)

Hello Folks,
We have all been victims of a cruel joke played by DOS and USCIS! We should not stand by and do nothing!
We should call the new organizations and let them know... make sure that they cover this fisco!
But, I want to see this issue in the news not just for a day or two. The one thing that will catch people's attention is we do something OUT of the way!
I support one suggestion put forward by one of our members - Go the Munnabhai way! Send them flowers! Do you guy have any idea what kind of news that will be? If USCIS suddenly receive 1000s of flowers everyday? Granted we will be spending money from our pockets but that is a small price to pay to make our woes known to others!
So, if people are interested... let us start a send a flower a day campaign!

I hope someone out there in a similar situation can help me out.
I have given my real estate agent several referrals and for each I receive a cash amount. I'm on an H1B visa, am I able to receive income from someone other than my employer?
I've searched the web and have been able to find out that this should be reported as taxable income, I'm just not sure if I can receive it due to my immigration status.
Any comments or tips are welcome.
You are supposed to report ALL income regardless of its legal validity or not. Having said that, legally you are not allowed to have any other income other than from your H1B sponsoring company. I dont know though how this compares to the other deals wherein you open a Bank A/c and get 200 bucks and others like that.
Another point you may want to find out more is if your real estate agent is showing the amount paid to you as an expense or not.
And finally, I hope whoever you referred did get a full disclosure from you that you might be compensated for the referral :-)

Two other issues could be:
1. You will not be able to travel on student visa. If you enter US on student visa, it is considered as abandonment of I-485 application.
2. You need recent salary statements for EAD renewal every year.

Once you get the I-94 at POE, the I-94 which comes with the I-797 become invalid. Always the latest I-94 counts.
snathan: In that case my I-94 will be valid thru August 2009 which is the expiry date of current my stamped visa. Then what happens after August 2009? Since my I-94 will be expired, is that considered an unlawful presence? If so, what should I do then?
We came back yesterday May 1st, my wife's stamp is only until May 31st and mine until Aug 30th but we had the extended approval notices. Both H1s. We both got stamped until the end of the extension date on the I 797. I don't think you'll have any problem.

Lastly, for my wife, who will be entering on AP will be given one year of I-94. what happens after that I-94 is expired? Is that considered as unlawful presence? In that case will she have to renew her I-94? In general for people who enter on AP, what happens after their I-94 is expired??
I appreciate your responses on this I-94 expiry piece.. I want to make sure that either me or my wife are not staying with expired I-94.

With US Govt. bailing out all banks from their debt, the house price will not fall so fast anymore. The reason is - banks are in not hurry anymore to sell the short sell or foreclosure properties because the losses are taken over by government. Normal house price will not compete with short sale/foreclousers anymore. This is what happened in 1989 too. This will stabilize the prices in coming months once congress makes the RTC a law.

I have a baby in US. We have applied for birth certificate and ssn. we plan to travel to india in December. I plan to apply for US passport once i receive DOB and ssn certificates. I have following Q's -
If baby has to travel to india, do i need PIO or OCI?
What is difference b/w two?
Can i simultanesously apply for PIO/OCI along with US passport?
What documents would I need to apply PIO/OCI along and US passport?
How long does everything take?

u can only apply PIO....US passport takes 8-9 days in regular but since u plan to travel in december, u can expedite by paying some extra fee....then apply PIO in indian consulate

How will you get the papers signed without them being here? You also need recent passport size photos of them as well for AP document.
You can differ filing EAD and AP at a later date.
