There is no 180 days wait period for derivatives. For you to change jobs, you need to wait 180 days to use AC21, but for the dependents, they can do whatever they want and whenever they want after they receive EAD card. It is like GC for them, but only difference is they need to renew EAD every year unlike GC. Otherthan that it is all fine as long you maintain your AOS status properly.
I just applied I-485 with EAD/AP on July 2nd. my wife also has H1. I am the primary to 485.
Question:
My wants to go for permanent position on EAD. When she will eligible for permanent position? After 180 days or can before?
Please seniors advice on this. because she is going to get contract-to-hire position.

I did my address change last month and got soft update...my dates are also current.On friday I got a notice from USCIS for biometrics...don't know what triggered it..still waiting for the biometrics notice for my family.

I don't think your EB2 was automatically ported. This approval is one of the USCIS's unknown GC processing strategy. I have known two cases in EB3 got approved when PD's were in "Unavailable", Yes, its for EB3-I.
Don't think too much, have a professional advise and Enjoy your freedom.

I opened SR in Jan...took infopass last week...NOTHING..stupid people are saying that my namecheck is going on..i applied 140 and 485 in July...i140 not yet approved...no FP also...blackhole...

Many of us came here because an American University admitted us and sent us invitation (aka I20) to attend the program and many are working here because american companies invited us and sponsored our work documents and pays us very well at par with other knowledge workers. If the I-140 has been approved, you are entitled to use the PD on any subsequent I-140 unless it is revoked based on fraud or misrepresentation.
Hello Ann - Is that the case even if the new job has a slightly different job profile than the first one that you have an approved I-140 for? Is there anything specific to keep in mind in terms of same/similar job classification?

When India won its first Olympics individual medal, someone posted it on this site. People descended on that poor guy asking him to stick to the subject. Now where are those guys? Do I need to assume that they are not offended by this time?
Well, are we all not trying to be Americans? So what’s wrong with cheering for the guy who makes this nation proud? If we were ALL trying to permanently migrate to India, in that case you will not see any opposition to Bhindra's achievement. I personally think that there is no need to make issue out of "this" or "that" on the forum for everything going on in the world. Both these gentleman and others who did well are remarkably disciplined human beings and we ought to celebrate their perfection, maybe by trying to be closer to perfection showing a little more appreciation for each other.
Although I must quote a reporter on the news recently who said "When we wave Americans flags, we want to be called/seen as patriots and when others wave their flags, we call them nationalist". I found this comment very interesting.
The point is, no matter what, we will find our differences superseding anything and everything in front of us under any given situation. That’s just Great…. maybe that’s part of being human …. do we expect ourselves to behave/react better than this…. Maybe we just want others to behave better than "this".

I applied for AINP on Feb-2009.That time my martial status is single.I got married on April-2009.I got my file number last week.If i want to include my spouse on my AINP process what i have to do?Did anyone faced this kind of situation?

I called on the number on the form and they said once I get the file number, I need to again fill out the forms which need dependent information and send them over with additional documentation. You may just want to call them and re verify. I found the CSR very helpful and polite.

- On L1 for 3 1/2 years and H1 for 2 years 3 months. About to complete 6
years in 3 months.
- Filed Labor (approved. PD Aug 2004 EB3), I140 (applied in May 2007) and
I485 (July fiasco)
- I140 still pending
Question:
1. Does L1 period is counted for H1 extention?
2. Can he do H1 transfer using AC21 without I140 approval?
As 6 years are going to be expired?
3. What if the old employer revokes his I140 now? His GC process is invalid?
4. If we leave about GC, Can he do H1 transfer atleast?

Please be positive. What is wrong in signing petition? If you are not convince, don't sign. Please don't discourage others.

What all papers did you have. Can you please give me a list... I did my H1B renewal in Toronto Last Feb without problem. I have Indian Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Renewal went very smoothly. I had all my papers with me as required.
