SJ announced 4 m iPhones sold. I believe I read some days ago that 5 m have been expected??
Maybe I'm wrong. But if not, we learned today that iPhone and Apple TV aren't doing well. Apple should refocus on their core business before to many Mac customers leave disappointed.
for a single phone to sell 4million, i think thats amazing!
rim only has 20% more smartphone holding and think of all the versions that it has and how many years has the blackberry been around? atleast 5, problaby way more then that.

Because they refuse to read analysts predictions or run statistics of their own? Yeah, not buying it.
FYI, there were already reports that Verizon is testing their network and preparing it for an onslaught of iPhone users.
Also, once again I need to point out that most of AT&Ts issues revolved around their own network deficiencies and a bad WCDMA migration. Verizon has neither of those 2 issues.
I'm not denying anything you're saying, because it's factual. I'm just saying that, in my honest opinion, I don't see Verizon faring much better than AT&T at the start. They can do all the preparing and testing that they want, but the only way they're really going to be able to know if they can handle it is when it happens. Seeing is believing is all I'm saying. And just to reiterate, I don't think Verizon knows just how many people will switch on or near the day of launch. AT&T's probably going to be dishing out a LOT of early termination fees.
Also, I'm banking on a lot of people leaving AT&T and getting off of their back because AT&T still really hasn't fully recovered since the iPhone's launch back in '07.

It would be useful if they you reached a certain amount of upvotes you can get into the marketplace too. That'll help with actual contributing users that don't post much. The current system provokes people to just post quick short responses to raise their post count.

Everything on the original iPhone was already in use by other phones. Apple simply combined them all together in one phone and made it simpler to use. It revolutionized yeah, by simply bringing that stuff to the front of peoples minds.

Apple has by far the most restrictive ecosystem. You can't even load applications that are not approved by Apple.
Unless....you really want to. Then you can just root your system and do whatever you want. Like, opening yourself up to malware. That was very popular with the Windows users.

Not that I really care about the tracking services...but I wonder if Apple will skip the 3G again with this update...
If not, encrypt your backups in iTunes on your computer (that's where the greatest threat lies).

There is no beta of Windows 8 yet so it is hard to say. MS can add million new features to make it sound good on paper and then fail it like they did with Vista. In the end, the most important thing is stability. Windows 7 is great and I really hope W8 will take it even further.

Received my replacement display today:
Stuck green pixel.
Gray dot in the center, looks like dust behind lcd glass?
Even backlight, or sort off.
Lots of ghosting...
This display is going back as well. I'll call tomorrow. I'll ask for one more replacement, otherwise i want a refund.
C'mon Apple, how hard is it to get me a nice 23" display? I have one already, without ghosting, some backlight leakage ok, but I just want a second display to go with it. Is it that hard?
You can't see the issue as clearly as in real life, but you can see the edges of the windows clearly. I can still read the songs of my itunes library while I closed iTunes 20 seconds ago.

Yeah, thanks Apple. Truth is, this "bug" would never have been "fixed" if the mainstream media didn't jump on this story. If I remember correctly, Jobs denied any problem (like he always does) just last week. Suddenly this becomes a problem when Al Franken (of all people) comes knocking on Apple's door. The whole situation has almost become a parody.
And also, where exactly is this "fix". Seems like Apple was much more responsive getting 4.0.2 released.

Anyone who says that is taking the mickey. As a mac user of over a decade I can say I'm quite happy that I can run Windows 7 on my mac.

Although, OS X was never really that good until 10.3. 10.4 was pretty good too. Leopard and Snow Leopard are fantastic though.

To the people posting screenshots: You do know that you're breaking the non disclosure agreement you made with Apple when you signed up for the Mac Dev Program? If they track you down, the small print pretty much says they can do very evil things to you. Tred carefully, it's likely Apple will be watching out for people like you.

If you want tethering, pay for it. The cell phone planes (without tethering) are calculated on a typical single (mobile) device usage - using it for more devices is stealing (you know, you signed the contract with the rules - if you don't like it you shouldn't have signed up)I'm on an unlimited plan, so how do I pay for tethering? For those of you running Aperture on a Mac Pro, did you notice the new RAM requirement on http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/? It says "2GB of RAM required for Mac Pro." I've been running Aperture just fine on my new Mac Pro with the standard 1GB of RAM. Like many new Mac Pro owners, I've been holding off on upgrading the RAM until it gets a little cheaper. The 1.5 update installer better not refuse to install on my Mac because of insufficient RAM; I'll be pretty upset if it does. :(

So is this meant to be an ad for the iPad 2 or the future generations? All it does is make me more excited for upcoming models, not the iPad 2 itself. Where I live, and with the operator I use, this isn't out of the contract though. I don't know which contract you have.You should consider yourself lucky then. This story is about places where your situation is not the case.
