Bloggers often struggle to gain acceptance as a valid and legitimate source of news, and with this stunt (see link) Gizmodo have helped to undermine those who have worked so hard to gain credibility within an elitist industry.
I'm not without a sense of humour, but when Giz started screwing with a live presentation they crossed a line. This type of behaviour shouldn't be condoned in my opinion and a strong signal should be sent out to those responsible. Who's to say that they wouldn't interfere with an Apple event? What do you make of their actions?

Games and gadgets, the concept of the fourth estate is a joke. Gadgets, it's primarily the online media. Games, it's both print and online, in general tone and especially in game reviews.
A goofball walks into CES and does this, it's a practical joke, and he faces his own personal consequences. Find it funny or not, it's your own personal taste. Guys wearing press badges do this, anyone actively involved, they should all be fired by the parent company. Immediately. Period. No second chances. But Nick Denton is so afraid of not appearing cool and hip, he suborns what he probably thinks, or tells himself, is "gonzo" journalism, but it's really just a complete lack of respect for the profession; and he also panders to so-called "futurist" rhetoric as spouted by numerous thirty-year-old "cultural visionaries" with not so much as an undergrad degree in elementary education to their names.
Not to mention that what they did is probably some state or federal higher-end misdemeanor; that is, a criminal act for which they could serve jail time.
And no, I'm not a stiff or a prude: I love practical jokes. But members of the press *do not* interfere with events they are covering in their official capacities, while checked in under press credentials of all things. If Denton doesn't formerly apologize to the CES coordinators and the individual exhibitors affected, and then fire each member of his staff involved, he should not retain a single shred of public or industry credibility. Advertisers should boycott, and he should be put out of business, his whole operation.

Not bashing android by any means... But my work had deployed me a droid x. I had it for about six months. On average I would say I needed to pull the battery for lock ups every couple days. I had Verizon send me a replacement under warranty and the new one did the same thing.
There's def pros and cons to each platform. I enjoyed the notification system a lot more on the droid. Since then I've switched to an iPhone 4 at work. I have a personal 3GS and have fallen in love with the cosmetic design of the iPhone 4 and the retina display.
About the Lock up, I think most of them don't know we can just do a hard reset without pulling out the battery in the iPhone. Just hold the power and home button down.
I get it a lot too but I just say "nah, this phone sucks it's the worst phone in the world" and they usually shut up.
They shut up because they have an insecurity about their phone and the iPhone 4 is the better phone. Shooting down a better phone makes their phone seem even worse. It's like a double headshot.
I hate to say it again but haters gon hate! It happens with ANYTHING. If you buy a BMW, Audi owners will waltz in saying "SEE MY CAR HAS THIS STANDARD IT'S WAY BETTER THAN BMW!!!!". If you buy a Rolex you get Omega and TAG Heuer owners going "MY WATCH IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ROLEX BECAUSE IT'S CHEAPER AND IT HAS MORE THINGS IN IT!!!".
It's a thing you have to live with if you buy the most popular, top-of-the-line luxury things. If you can afford it, why not buy it?
the whole thing makes my brain hurt because it's so stupid and I don't care if the guy next to me had an Evo or an iPhone 4.
Actually I think its more the people with a turbo'ed Japanese imports that give an earfull to the European car owners. Or the Casio owners who brag how accurate digital is vs the luxury watches. I know someone who had to ask someone for the time cause her Piaget watched was unreadable due to the amount of flares coming from the diamonds inside LOL.. Obviously a fail watch but what you gonna do, sue them?
Jealously is all I can think of =)

Thanks Dejo...
I may download this app as I've still not encountered an iAd, and it's on the bucket list. ;)
I can assure you all I'm not an idiot or moron.
:p
MOR- oh nevermind. :p actually I downloaded it long ago! haha. Just for kicks. It's pretty well made. And I remember when iAds first came out I was actually wanting something like this because I actually did want to see all the different ones. They are moderately entertaining and if the product interests you it can be informative.
That being said I'll probably delete it like tomorrow...

(edit) In case anyone thinks I have said anything mean about FP's wife, keep in mind the only thing I know about her is that she's a teacher in a union.
And the fact that she married 5P. ;)

So... what are we supposed to run this monstrosity on? The G5 QUADS had a hard enough time running the first one. I can't imagine running this on an iMac or worse... a mac mini.
JOKE JOKE JOKE
And to think, I can run Lightroom on a G4 mini...

Your only role models should be the ones your personally know.
What if you don't know any role models (e.g. you are poor?)
Your only role models should be the ones your personally know. Teaching "gay history" is more about promoting homosexuality than helping children.
I would presume that "gay history" just means that when you cover Leonardo da Vinci you point out that he was gay.

Windows are purely OS for "work enviroment". OSX is for casual stuff.
Cant imagine using freakin Miranda/ICQ/Trillian/Digsby piece of crap with MS Movie Maker and so on.
Same as i cant imagine using Outlook/Excel on Mac OS.
Windows is like Semi, gigantic ugly looking utility vehicle. Mac OS is like convertible ferrari - nice pus.sy magnet for everyday casual use.

A lot of people have more than one mac...I've found that people with macs tend to hold on to them and find a use for the older machines when new ones are bought. Either using them as servers or hook em up to a TV, older macs tend to hang around.

iPhone did nothing new. It just took some popular features and combined them. It was more of a game changer due to it being made by apple.
People talk about a so-called 'reality distortion field' about Steve Jobs and yet everyday we get people blatantly ignoring truth because it doesn't fit with their own personal world view.
Yes, there were Palms, and Blackberries, Nokia's, Sony-Ericssons, and Panasonics etc before the iPhone but when we all saw the iPhone everyone instantly knew that was the future; touch-screen, icon based, intuitive, with an emphasis on both design and usability.
You might not like the fact that Apple revolutionized the phone market but history says otherwise.

I don't see the ability to vote down posts ending well. I think that a "Thanks" system would be much, much better.
So same system but without the down vote button at all?
