Like all July 2 filers, I will now become eligible for AC-21.
My I-140 has been approved long back.
However, I do not have a copy of approved I-140.
If i Change, I will change using H1 and not EAD.
In the new company, will I be able to get a 3 year extension with ONLY I-485 receipt?
I am retrogressed and so technically should be able to get 3 year ext.But, the only way to prove it is through I-140 approval copy which I do not have.
If anybody has changed using H1 transfer and only I-485 receipt, please let me know whether you got 1 year extension or 3 year extension.

Wondering, can any body clarify what 'now pending standard processing at a USCIS office.' means - if its a good sign - why and any experiences?? also 'a USCIS office' means National Benefits Center (MSC) or a local office?

We all know very well by now that the house of representatives is THE mover when it comes to passing any pro-legal immigration bill.Given that half of those representatives may loose their jobs in the coming election, I dont see much point in contacting them now if they have already made up their mind not to do anything on immigration until the elections. But we will have to double our efforts as soon as the new congress settles in so that our agenda gets highlighted to the new members of congress.

Immigrant petition was filed only for me. However, AoS has been filed for the entire family. So in my opinion the answers to three questions sholuld be 1 - No, 2- No, 3- Yes.- Would that be Correct?
Since the primary applicant of form I-539 is my wife, i wasn't sure if there should be a mention of my immigrant petition when describing the circumstances on a separate sheet of paper. Should I add receipt number of form I-485 or attach a copy of the form as support documents?

Once you file I-485 it is as good as filing an Immigrant petition. So your Answer will be 'Yes' for Everyone who has applied for I-485.

Employement history is on G-325. It is only for last 5 years. If it was before 5 years there is good chance that you need not answer that question. I-485 does not require your Tax returns. You can do that with your W2 forms.

Another bummer, of course, is that without GC you will be charged "out of state" tuition no matter how long you have lived in that state, except California and Texas, where, as far as I know, even illegals can get "in-state" tuition.:cool:

I have similar situation, got all my Receipts and got FP appointment. My H1 expired in 1st week of September. I would like to have H1 extended but, my employer and lawyer are saying "it is not possible now, and you will get your EAD dont worry".

Hi what kind of lawyer he is to say it is ok work after H1B expires with no EAD in hand. Technically you cannot work until you receive your EAD.
Ask your employer to see if he will do an extension if you pay for the expenses.

I have an EB3 LC/I-140 (2003 PD) approved from company X, now if I join company Y and file a new LC in EB2, can I retain my old PD?

I think if you are applying for differnt catagory then Position need to be different (Eb3- Eb2) and you can carry your old PR date. If you trying to apply PERM with same catagory then you can carry old PR date but can be in Same position, not sure you have withdraw first LC or not, consult few attroney before take any action.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?

Speaking of QJ I haven't seen much activity from her lately, you still out there Queen?
I'm still here, checking in once in a while. Unfortunately, got very busy doing some other things and haven't been doing much shooting. Just dropped Michael a note. I'd love to do a short get together. I haven't done much urban shooting, so it would be challenging for me. (although I've been having an urge to hit the Gold Country lately) I'll be back east 11/20-11/30 visiting family in NY and Georgia and pretty much incommunicado during that time.
Great shots of the bridge from Conzelman Road, and although I've never been able to bring myself to go down the one way section of Conzelman, there's suppose to be great shots from that section also. There's so many great places to see and things to do. Maybe we should start a list of possibilitites? I'll off to run the later starters around (I know Michael hit's the road really early.... 4 or 5 am?)
But I'm definitely open to planning something. I'll try to create a list of possible sites and post it here with in the next week or so for everyone to add to / subtract from. How's that sound?

I reviewed the State of Washington's unemployment compensation website, and from what I can see you would be eligible for benefits as long as you were legally authorized to work for the last 24 months and continue to be authorized to accept new employment. You will be required to provide your A# and agree to allow the State of Washington to share your application information with other agencies such as the IRS (UC benefits are taxable).

a reasonable timeframe without limiting US Security.

feasibility of it. As the security of this country is considered a
priority, it is important that the adequate budget and resources are

This sounds like a good initiative to help out all of us that finally end up making in I-485. Suggest we rally all IV members to sign this petition:

Ans:Yes a dental license is required for applying for a dentist position
Q: She 'qualifies' for a dental license (ie meets all requirements), but almost all states require a SSN to issue a dental license. Since she is on H4, she doesnt have a SSN. Problem: Dental License needs SSN - SSN needs H1 - H1 needs license - basically a "Catch 22" position here
